AI editing tools can save you hours of work - but they can also make your podcast sound over-edited if you're not careful.
In this episode of One Minute Podcast Tips, I share why it's important to quality-check AI edits, embrace natural pauses and imperfections, and give your podcast room to breathe.

One thing I've noticed lately is that podcasts are starting to sound a little
Speaker:over-edited, and a lot of that's down to AI.
Speaker:Now, don't get me wrong, AI editing tools can save you a lot of time,
Speaker:but features like automatic filler word removal, breath removal,
Speaker:silence trimming shouldn't be a replacement for actual listening back to your episode,
Speaker:because sometimes they remove the very things that make you sound human.
Speaker:A short pause before an important point. A quick breath while you're gathering your thoughts.
Speaker:Even the occasional um or you know. Those are little moments that are part of
Speaker:natural conversations.
Speaker:And when every pause disappears or every breath is removed and every sentence
Speaker:is cut together as tightly as possible, your podcast can start to sound rushed,
Speaker:choppy or just a little off. So here's a simple test.
Speaker:Listen to your next episode and ask yourself, does this sound like a conversation?
Speaker:Or does it sound like someone edited every second down that wasn't a word?
Speaker:Remember, your listener isn't counting your filler words, they're listening for a connection.
Speaker:So yes, use AI to speed up your workflow. Just don't let it edit the personality
Speaker:out of your podcast, because sometimes the best editing decision is giving your
Speaker:podcast permission to breathe.
Speaker:Until the next time, happy podcasting.
