It's tempting to want as many people as possible to listen to your podcast,
Speaker:but that doesn't mean your podcast has to be for everyone.
Speaker:Because when you start trying to appeal to everyone, it's very easy to lose
Speaker:the things that made your podcast interesting in the first place.
Speaker:Your topics become broader, your opinions become safer, and you might start
Speaker:making episodes because you think they'll attract more listeners,
Speaker:rather than because they're right for the audience you actually want.
Speaker:So think about who your podcast is really for. What are they interested in?
Speaker:Why did they choose your show instead of the thousands of others they could listen to?
Speaker:And what would make them come back for the next episode?
Speaker:Having a more specific audience doesn't necessarily mean having a small audience.
Speaker:It means knowing who you're talking to.
Speaker:And that can help with more than your content.
Speaker:It can make your promotion clearer, help you choose better guests,
Speaker:and even make your podcast more
Speaker:attractive to sponsors who want to reach a particular type of listener.
Speaker:So don't worry if your podcast isn't for everyone. It shouldn't be.
Speaker:You don't need to make a podcast everyone wants to listen to.
Speaker:You just need to make one the right people don't want to miss.
Speaker:Until the next time, happy podcasting.
